Thanks Holmes. I’m guessing that philm’s comment about Manjaro-tools is in reply to my question about the non-working status of Ctl/Atl/Backspace

#82

That’s 'cause you’re in lagacy/bios, hence why it works.
But for everything else after post-install, as everyone else has already found out, and mentioned, including VB, uefi/gpt, <- it fails at boot, “TLP Started…”, and with no xorg-server,…, pkgs installed. ?!

aka, You need to test this in a “real” UEFI-based system, and/or VB to see what we mean.

But thanks anyway, we’ve been here before already.

Holmes said
@lemmy999
disable randwall in start file (use JWMConf > option 8)
then you can use feh to change the wallpaper

Not working for me. Every time I reboot I go back to the default background

I see rc5 has Manjaro-tools 0.15.2-1. Is it just a matter of removing iso-profiles and installing manjaro-tools?

#85

@lemmy999
add this ~/.fehbg on start file. see if it works!

no need to mess with it!

@lemmy999
i took the test now and it worked…
leave it like this in start file:

  • uefi/gpt/bare-metal install worked fine. -(good work).
  • VB didn’t work.

just a couple suggestions:

  • For new users it might be helpful to put a JWM-start menu at upper left corner in task bar.
  • Instead of Menu->Applications->System->Install Kiboloe, I’d put a desktop icon for Intstalling Kibojoe.
    That’s about it, for now.
    Congrats.

#88

hello @scjet

good news!
i’m glad that’s working!

i reviewed the profile.conf file and made some changes…
i created a new iso and now it works in VB, see image

kkkkk…very good…

@scjet
many thanks for the tests …:ok_hand:
thank you for your help and sorry for anything…

#89

hi all,

theme-grub for Kibojoe

vlw fwi, Holmes

#90

sorry…
for this version (17.04)…
a start button will not be added…
nor the installer on the desktop…

i programmed all this for that version…
can i add in the next version!

if you followed the releases of the Manjaro JWM (if you do not know see in http://holmeslinux.github.io/jwm/ - images at the end)

you will realize that the versions are different

so will the philosophy of Kibojoe…
different from each version…that way makes life happier (“o dia-a-dia deixa a vida chata {feijão com arroz…não!}”; day to day makes life boring)

vlw fwi, Holmes

#91

Oh that looks awesome @Holmes, you need any other icons for cd or a hardisk, replacing the home icons? I think I should add a dot in the middle of the clock one.

#92

@Holmes I added a few icons and I optimized them. Wow I didn’t know Inkscape raw files adds a bunch of metadata and other crap. So the files are a little smaller and I stripped all the metadata and other crap on the SVG’s in it.

#93

I am too,

but btw,
( in uefi/gpt, now that your missing “xorg-server” pkg after post-install is now being correctly installed with this rc5 version of Kibojoe).
it would be nice to share how you fixed this month-long issue, and/or what caused these problems in these iso builds previously.?

Just sayin’, that would help others who may run into this issue in future.

Thx.

#94

I am still getting a halt/loop at TLP… in VB and
a" start job is running for Livemedia Pacman mirrors ranking script"

#96

hello,
i just updated the manjaro-tools (0.15.2-1) and solved the problem!

vlw fwi, Holmes

#97

hi

iso rc5 has the problem of tlp…
JWM the profile was adjusted and now the iso pre1 works in vbox (here works perfectly)

i downloaded some isos of the Manjaro and this also appears and other things. then, is not a problem!

vlw fwi, Holmes

#98

Just installed pre1 onto my laptop. Almost everything is working well except wireless networking. Using NMTUI i can see my wireless card and it can see all the nearby SSIDs. When I try and connect to my network it turns my wireless card off and, because the card is turned off, then fails to connect. I have checked all the settings and everything is fine.

I tried a EUFI install- it failed. So I went back to the tried and trusted legacy BIOS install which worked beautifully

in recent tests it worked…

you checked md5sum’s iso?

Checked my laptop using a liveCD of Manjaro KDE. Wireless works fine. Next plan is to try an earlier iteration of KiboJoe and see whether that works.
