Kernel 6.14 - No Bluetooth (MX Master3)

Hello everyone,
When I switch to kernel 6.14, I can no longer connect my MX Master 3. Other devices, like speakers, work perfectly fine. I’ve observed this behavior across different distributions (Arch, openSUSE Tumbleweed, Fedora 42) — every time the kernel is updated from 6.13.xx to 6.14.

The mouse can be connected via bluetoothctl, but it’s forgotten after every reboot or when the bluetooth.service is restarted.

It would be great if somebody can help.

Here is the hardware info:

Hi @Deeds87,

If you don’t need 6.14 for anything specific, I’d say stick to 6.13, or better yet, 6.12 - it is the latest LTS and SLTS, after all.

Hi @Mirdarthos,
yes, I’ll stick with version 6.12 for the time being, but my main goal is to understand the root cause of the issue and explore potential solutions. I use Linux not only for production purposes but also as a learning tool. It’s possible that others running the same system might depend on the newer kernel version.
Still, thanks for your input.

While that is true, I’d only start worrying if perhaps it didn’t work with the next LTS.

I have two very similar old computer laptops. Both run Core 2 Duo cpus. The faster one gives me no wifi and some grapical glitches running 6.14.
The slower one runs kernel 6.14 perfectly including the wifi. Go figure. I put 6.13 back on the faster one.

The issue will be fixed with Kernel 6.14.2
