Hello manjaro users:
I’m brand new to Manjaro and would like to make it work in my live. I’m a video content creator and chose Kdenlive 20.08.1 as my video editor. There are times when I’m editing a video and the entire desktop freezes and the only way to get out of it is by pressing the reset button on my tower. Yes, I have tried CTRL+ALT+DEL; CTRL+SHIFT+ESC with no avail. I want to make it clear that this happens only when editing videos with kdenlive tool. More specific information, the issue happens when I’m playing the entire video within the kdenlive timeline. I may have to contact kdenlive about it, but the issue here is that if kdenlive is the one causing it, why the desktop environment renders useless? It won’t respond to even CTRL+ALT+F1.

Please read this:
[HowTo] reboot / turn off your frozen computer: REISUB/REISUO
An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host
would be the minimum required information we need to help you further… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
The free
looks good but that’s without kdenlive running, right?
Could you open a terminal window and type this:
watch --interval=3 'free --human'
and report on the numbers while the system is freezing / frozen?
@bogdancovaciu and @Fabby
Here you go:

The “free” output was collected while the issue was happening. Somehow I was able to get to the desktop again.
I would try to install the nonfree (proprietary) Nvidia driver. It’s very well described here:

I have updated the graphics card driver per your suggestion:
Graphics: Device-1: NVIDIA GK208B [GeForce GT 710] vendor: Micro-Star MSI driver: nvidia v: 450.66
So far so good.
