KDE stuff freezes only when panel is "auto hide"

Newest update broke my DE in the weirdest way. I’ll show rather than tell:
(Every time my cursor stops I start clicking)

Desktop context menu:

Dolphin:

Edit mode:

With fixed panel:

So far it looks like this behavior is fixed by setting the panel to “always visible”.

If it’s anything to go on:
image

And I run wayland.

Where do I start, what logs do I post and where can I find them?
Is this similar to any other issue? I couldn’t find anything.

Driver swapping and kernel swapping did nothing.
Switching to x11 fixes it. (I would prefer wayland)

I’m still looking for a wayland fix. I’ll answer anything but it might be delayed.

I’d suggest posting a bit more system info:

inxi --admin --verbosity=8 --filter --width

should be enough (I’ve probably missed something out there; I usually use inxi -zv8 ).

Secondary pc updated normally, I got suspicious and did this. It now works flawlessly.

I don’t know why or where it failed like this but it works now.

Regular users ignore content below!

If my hardware data is useful for debugging to someone somewhere here is the dump with @BG405’s command.

The only thing I’ll add here: was the system update done whilst logged out of your Desktop, using a TTY, as recommended at least for major upgrades such as this? … Something left over in the cache, etc.?

Primary pc was in TTY. My secondary pc was logged in to the DE. No package version differences between the two.
Primary pc had the error, secondary didn’t. Hence my confusion, hence this post.

EDIT: both use nvidia.

Cache, idk.
It wasn’t any configs I’ve added, checked all, reinstall didn’t touch them.

But I stand behind your sentiment.
