KDE Plasma no onscreen keyboard

Hello everyone,
I recently bought a convertible that can be used in tablet mode. While a test installation of Manjaro Gnome showed an on screen keyboard at first try I can’t get it to work in my preferred desktop environment KDE (Wayland). I think qt5-virtualkeyboard was installed from the start but as I said it never showed up.
Is there a default one that should be installed with the system?
I also have another problem that might be related: Auto screen rotation only works if I uncheck the box “only in tablet mode” in the display settings, but then it also rotates the screen if I am not using the device in tablet mode. This made me think that the problem might be that the tablet mode is not recognized, but libinput debug-events indicates that switching between tablet mode and normal mode does work.
Any ideas?
