KDE Plasma 6 does not display at native refresh rate

Hello all! I am running Manjaro on my Steam Deck and the USB hub that I am using cannot support the native 100hz that my monitor can output. Because of this, Plasma shows up as a pure black screen and nothing else. My monitor is absolutely getting output, but is unable to display it for one reason or another. The only thing I can reliably access is the TTY, which means that kscreen-doctor and xrandr are out of the question. The only solution that I am aware of is setting my output refresh rate to >85hz. I have tested this on another system and I am sure that refresh rate is the issue here.
P.S: For those wondering why I wouldn’t just use my steam deck screen, it’s because it is completely broken. It’s that simple.

Output of the inxi command (with appropriate parameters, and formatted according to forum guidelines) will generate information useful for those wishing to help:

If you need to run inxi from within a chroot environment, and find the output is laced with unexpected 12’s, please try again with:

• Add to the long form command: --color=0
• or, change the short form to: inxi -zv8c0

If you are unable to copy and paste the inxi output due to being unable to access your desktop, but can still access a TTY text session, then you can send the inxi output to a pastebin service:

inxi -zv8c0 | nc termbin.com 9999

Note: the nc command may require installation of the openbsd-netcat package:

pamac install openbsd-netcat

or

sudo pacman -Syu openbsd-netcat

After the output is sent, a link to the inxi output will be provided, which you can then add to your forum post.

If you are not allowed to post links in the forum due to being a new member, you can still paste the link as code by typing 3 backticks ``` on empty lines above and below the pasted URL.

When inxi is run using the --filter or -z parameters, any personally identifiable information is filtered from the resulting output.

Steam Deck

How is the display connected? I’m not familiar with the Steam Deck but from the Steam Deck specs:

External connectivity for controllers & displays:
USB-C with DisplayPort 1.4 Alt-mode support; up to 8K @60Hz or 4K @120Hz, USB 3.2 Gen 2y

The hub would need to support of all these specs also.

Then you need to change the refresh rate to something supported by the hub.

I might suggest setting your refresh rate to 60 Hz or, in any case, something that the hub will support. While this might not seem ideal, given the capability of your monitor, the only other obvious resolution is to acquire a new hub; some careful research would be needed.
