KDE Anoyances - bugs

Hi,
I am having these issues since forever or since KDE 5.16.3 and I am wondering if its only me because noone else is mentioning these bugs.

  1. Wobbly windows messed up

  2. KDE Connect / notifications messed up
    kdenotifications

  3. Bluetooth destroying systemtray
Connecting a Bluetooth device - Destroys Systemtray
Systray Before BT PS4 Controller Connected
    beforebt

Systray After BT PS4 Controller Connected
afterbt

Open a terminal, type inxi -Fxxz, copy paste the outcome here between </> (see above for the correct key)
It might be something in your graphical part is not setup right.

KDE 5.16.3 is just a few weeks old so it can't be forever.

Have you tried with the default KDE theme "Breeze"?

To me it could all come to do a custom theme issue. So at least try replicating it with Breeze.

yeap the same things are happening with Breeze

Here is my inxi

Compositor settings?

Same as yours except allow apps to block compositor...

If you create a second user account & switch to it, does the misbehaviour replicate?

If you boot from a LiveISO/USB, does the misbehaviour replicate?

yeap is doing it on the new user as well.
At the start the bluetooth bug was not happening but after adding in systray some applications and connected PS4 a couples of times it crashed the system tray again.

Fot wobbly windows if you click advanced and max everything to the right you will see an amazing effect lol

I am thinking to try a different distro just to check if this behaviour is happening only in Manjaro

I have checked the wobbly effects on my laptop with Intel Graphic card and is having the same bug as my main pc with Nvidia.
I have install Arch on another PC with a cheap old nvidia and Wobbly effect is working fine.

So none of you that are using Manjaro Plasma is having this problem with wobbly effects????
This drives me nuts . How come 2x different laptops with the same Manjaro installation having the same problem with different pcs and none of you is having this problem...

All my compositing effects, ie including WW, continue to work just fine in my Manjaro Lappy & Manjaro Tower. FYI.

Same here.
Could this be a theming issue? I'm using default breath theme.

Unless you are running the *-git version of kde all the plasma packages come directly upstream from arch so this is exceedingly strange. Is the plasma version the same on your arch machine as manjaro?

It looks like there are newer plasma packages in the testing branch. You might try switching to testing if you haven't already.

UGH! I think I got motion sickness from that.

FWIW, I'm on testing with two machines using KDE. One with AMD GPU, the other nvidia gpu.
I do not have these issues.
They are both using the Arc Dark Theme btw.

I am not using any git version and I am on unstable repo, anyway is very strange...
I will wait for the latest NVIDIA drivers and the new upcoming KDE hopefully these updates will fix my issues.

Just an update on this...
I have tested arch on my machine and I have the same problems.
I guess is a Plasma thing , most propably a KWIN bug or some apps I am using that is causing this.

Well the good thing is that I have tested timeshift and I am amazed that it restored everything as it was

I have also experienced the ps4 bluetooth-on/systray bug. While not backed by science. You may have some success by disabling the ps4 touchpad as a workaround.

My findings:

  • ps4 touchpad enabled & touchpad widget hidden: It happens by chance. Though hot streaks are possible.

  • ps4 touchpad enabled & touchpad widget shown: It seems to crash each time.

  • When I disable ps4 touchpad it seems to work fine (without any crashes yet).
