Japanese IME (fcitx5-im, fcitx5-mozc) input switching doesn't work after Manjaro update

It is quite possible that applications which where working as expected when using x11 will work differently under wayland.

Please look at System Settings using the Application Permissions section.

Some aspects of Legacy X11 App Support can be configured especially application listening for keystrokes - which I reckon is one of the input switching’s primary functions.

I didn’t realize Manjaro was sneaking Wayland in on their updates, but this is a major deal breaker for me.

Any inconvenience can be placed with upstream Plasma which removed the x11 session.

However, users of Plasma and GNOME may lose their X11 session support. Therefore read our Known issues and solutions section before restarting your systems!

Plasma 6.4.0 will need manual intervention if you are on X11

On Plasma 6.4 the wayland session will be the only one installed when the users does not manually specify kwin-x11.

With the recent split of kwin into kwin-wayland and kwin-x11, users running the old X11 session needs to manually install plasma-x11-session, or they will not be able to login. Currently pacman is not able to figure out your personal setup, and it wouldn’t be ok to install plasma-x11-session and kwin-x11 for every one using Plasma.

tldr: Install plasma-x11-session if you are still using x11
