I used Ibus for a while, but had issues with Firejail (which sandboxes applications and filters dbus access). I removed Ibus and switched to fcitx5 with the following packages:

  • manjaro-asian-input-support-fcitx5
  • fcitx5
  • fcitx5-gtk
  • fcitx5-qt
  • fcitx5-mozc
  • fcitx5-configtool
