Management dual screens 46' and 22'

Hello All
I beg your help for an outstanding problem I have with my new build PC tower.
I’ve 2 screens, the first one, a 22’ LG monitor selected as primary and a second one, a Samsung TV 46’ as secondary.
I don’t understand why, the 46’ has priority on boot and logging, also when this TV is switched off but stay in standby mode. If I want to use the 22’ monitor, I’ve to unplug the HDMI connection from the 46’ TV.
On the XFCE display management, the 22’ is selected as primary and mirror display is unselected.
In this new tower, I’ve also installed the last Debian as independant installation, they have their own ssd, no dual boot (selection by boot keyboard selection)
Debian has also trouble with the screens, It start with the 46’ TV, the 22’ stay in standby only. If I want to use my 22’ monitor with Debian I must unplug the cable from the TV.
At the first look, I think about a graphic card configuration (my old configuration didn’t got these issues), but I could be wrong, it’s an Sapphire Radeon RX6600 Pulse (Navi 23) running with kernel 5.15 LTS
Below some Informations they may help you

I think to have given all informations, if not, ask for more. Some questions I have, can the drivers could be not optimized for this CG, grub/bios options?
Screens connection are HDMI/HDMI for the 22’ and HDMI/Displayport for the 46’

Many thank for your help :pray:

Hi @La_Fouif,

I am not sure, but on reading your problem, it sounds like a classical case of priorities. As if the 46" gets priority over the 22". I THINK you’ll have to switch outputs.

Although, I’m first to admit I might be wrong, in which case I have no cooking clue further.

I hope you get this sorted!

Also, just a tip:

To provide terminal output, copy the text you wish to share, and paste it here, surrounded by three (3) backticks, a.k.a grave accents. Like this:

```
pasted text
```

This will just cause it to be rendered like this:

Portaest sed
elementum
cursus nisl nisi
hendrerit ac quis
sit
adipiscing
tortor sit leo commodo.

Instead of like this:

Portaest sed elementum cursus nisl nisi hendrerit ac quis sit adipiscing tortor sit leo commodo.

Thereby improving legibility and making it much easier for those trying to be of assistance.

Please edit your post accordingly.

Hello Mirdarthos
thank for your reply, I will try to switch the differents positions connections I’ve with the CG. Only one HDMI is available, all the others are DP. Nothing to do with my drivers configuration? all seem to be well?
Regards

Considering it’s identified and using the kernel drivers, all seems well in that regard. But, as I mentioned, I might be wrong since I

  1. am no expert; and
  2. don’t have an AMD card.

But I hope you manage!

Do you try setting up profiles?
