The issue is whenever i try to screen share either in teams app or in a google meet , it shares some rando previous instances of the screen .Even though i had closed all other windows it shares some previous instance of the screen . By previous instance i mean that , if i had previously opened a document on okular and closed it .While screen sharing the screen i had at the time of viewing the document is shared.I am a college student and am attending online classes , so screen sharing is really important for me. Any help is appreciated.

Do you have a xorg config file? The chosen AccelMethod might be at fault.
Check the wiki for the different options Intel graphics - ArchWiki

Thanks a lot @mithrial , i added a intel-conf file in the xorg.conf directory with the Accel Method set to “uxa” and now screen sharing works perfectly normal . Thanks a lot for your help.

But now i get a different problem. I get a black screen with just the cursor when the laptop is left idle and the only option i have is to switch it off using the power button.

I’ve marked this answer as the solution to your question as it is by far the best answer you’ll get.

However, if you disagree with my choice, please feel free to take any other answer as the solution to your question or even remove the solution altogether: You are in control! (If you disagree with my choice, just send me a personal message and explain why I shouldn’t have done this or  or :+1: if you agree)

:innocent:
P.S. In the future, please don’t forget to come back and click the 3 dots below the answer to mark a solution like this below the answer that helped you most:

That’s a completely different problem so please open a new topic for that and refer to this to this topic why you’re asking this.

Note: we won’t charge you more :money_with_wings: for creating more than one topic… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

:grinning: :+1:Yes @Fabby i will create a new topic for the screen suspension error , @mithrial 's answer is the solution to this topic .Please help me out in the new topic as well. The link to the new topic is Black screen with the only the cursor on suspension in intel graphics.
