Hello
I’m using Manjaro with KDE Plasma. And I have an issue with a Windows program I usually launch with Wine. It won’t launch anymore. It did work before, though.
I tried every other program I run with Wine and they still work.
The program in question is the 64-bit version of the game boy emulator BGB: https://bgb.bircd.org/
here is what happens when I try to launch it from the terminal:
MESA-INTEL: warning: Haswell Vulkan support is incomplete
MESA-INTEL: warning: Haswell Vulkan support is incomplete
00e8:err:module:loader_init "winspool.drv" failed to initialize, aborting
00e8:err:module:loader_init Initializing dlls for L"Z:\\home\\guillaume\\Documents\\BGB\\bgb64.exe" failed, status c0000005
There seems to be an issue with “winspool.drv”? Can someone help me fix this?
This is not a solution to your issue, and have I have not used this Windows Game Boy Emulator.
But why not just use one of the many native Linux emulators for this? (Which I have used, many years ago.)
Hi, could you please post your inxi -zv8
so we can see what hardware you are using? Highlight the pasted text and press the </> button at the top of the reply window, so it appears in a properly formatted box.
I have made a few searches related to these error messages and have found various results, including this one and also this.
These could be relevant to the issue; we’ll see when we know what hardware you are using.
Cheers!
Also, I’d investigate the suggestion by @Molski.
I have a suspicion that the winspool.drv issue is a result of the top messages, but of course I could well be wrong.
Here is the output from inxi -zv8

Hey, I have no idea why but it seems like the issue fixed itself magically. The program works now.
