Hi. I can’t seem to update/install any software via Add/Remove Software.
sudo pacman -Syu
But with no change to the problem.
Hope that someone could help, I’d be very greatful.

Yes, it’s a known problem, caused by the archlinux-appstream-data package. The devs are working on it. 
Meanwhile, update your system with…
sudo pacman-mirrors -f && sudo pacman -Syyu

There was an update to libpamac earlier today, which fixes the bug introduced yesterday.
