Is there a way to restore default folder icons?

I tested hiding the Desktop, Public and Template folders. When I unhid them the folders didn’t have the default icons. So I manually selected the folders for each one. But now when I toggle to a list view it doesn’t match the other icons.

Is there a way to restore them to their defaults so that when I toggle view it changes to the way it should?

Try this command:


You may need to logout / login for changes to take effect.

I tried that and the icons remained the same.

Try this then:

Select the file or folder that you want to change, choose File -> Properties . click on the Icon button, in the Select custom icon dialog click Revert .
