OMG, I figured out the issue…
It seems in the post-install, when the package script tries to run the get_python script, it’s doing so with elevated privileges, which upsets pip and doesn’t seem to do the rest of the linking (or it tries and doesn’t stick, I’m not sure which). That, in turn, means it’s not referencing the correct library files and therefore unable to run.
