Is it okay to reformat ESP and then restore its data?

I am running Manjaro KDE (kernel 5.4-amd64). I have two secondary installations - Windows 10 (to keep hardware vendors’ customer support happy) and FreeBSD (from which I migrated to Manjaro).

I have a question that relates to this monstrously stupid idea called UEFI.

If I ever need to reinstall an OS, is it okay if reformat the ESP and restore its data (loader .efi files; including my bootloader rEFInd) ?

Will data restoration (after ESP reformat) give me the same boot environment, or will my system become unbootable ?

Thanks for any inputs,
