Irrational Jitter/Lag under certain activities

Hi again Friends,

This time I am inquiring about my frustrating experience where the system appears frozen/occupied, although system resources are available (see screenshot below).

Some activities that cause it:

  • Updating packages
  • ? downloading/building Docker images

Diagnostics:

Trying to move windows/tabs is impossible – but the cursor can move. Even losing audio from applications are common.

The disks are healthy, computer powerful, and internet excellent – why am I experiencing this – and how can I resolve it?

Nvidia and wayland ?

Have you applied things like DRM/KMS ?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA#DRM_kernel_mode_setting

Of course you could also try with an X11 session to see if its any different.
But we probably want to aim for wayland if possible. In which case you need some extra steps.

(Plus I would aim for as high a kernel as possible)
(Plus I might even switch branches for Unstable to have latest plasma)
