Internal Laptop screen is blank after Plasma 6.2.4 update

KDE Plasma user here:
After the update the internal laptop display is blank, only the external display is working.
I tried to disable and then enable back the display using System Settings > Display & Monitor > Display Configuration > Built-in Screen > Enabled
After enabling I see the desktop appearing for a short period (<1sec) and then goes blank again - mouse cursor not showing.
I also tried arandr with same results.
Sometimes the mouse cursor was displayed on the Internal display.
I’m using Kernel 6.6.63, also tried with 6.1.119 - the same results.

What happens if you unplug your external screen? There were changes made in 6.2 on how to support multiple screen setups including a per screen brightness control. Do you use X11 or Wayland on your end? See also here: Plasma 6.2 black screen when logging in - #12 by philm

Sorry for the confusion, after further investigations this is my conclusion:
I usually use the laptop with an external monitor, and I rarely reboot/poweroff the system, I use sleep.
Initially, I thought it was related to the operating system, possibly due to an update. However, the problem occurs in both Linux and Windows.
Right after booting, the internal monitor works for a few seconds, then the screen goes black, right about the time I have to enter the LUKS password.
The issue also occurs in the BIOS: I start the laptop, display is ok, enter the BIOS, wait a few seconds, and then the display goes blank.
It seems that when there’s higher brightness (possibly higher power consumption), it shuts down(or at least goes blank).
For example, on the GRUB screen, where I choose what to boot into, the background is black, and the problem doesn’t occur.
However, in the BIOS, where the background is lighter with blue and white, the issue appears.

So this isn’t a Plasma issue as initially though. Sorry for the confusion.

So more like a hardware issue …
