This theme and icon problem in the system settings has been a problem for many years now. If you try to download themes or icons from the web via the system settings in KDE, then I encounter error message after error message, it is simply not possible to install them. Only a few have passed. Yes, this is a KDE problem and not a Manjaro problem. Let’s hope the KDE developers do something drastic about this! One idea is that they have a button/server for stable finished themes and icons, and a button/server for unfinished unstable ones in the system settings. Or simply remove the option to download it via the system settings, and instead include the stable themes in KDE Plasma as default.
Just install ocs-url
from the AUR and use the “Install” button on the page in your browser.
I installed the file you referred to, but I don’t see any install button at Windows Eleven Plasma 6 - KDE Store
I have an install button if I choose plasma 5 themes. I tried installing one but nothing happened, just a directory came up. But in the system settings for themes there was no new entry!
ocs-url
hasn’t been updated for a long time and no longer works on Plasma 6, as is mentioned in the comments on the AUR (en) - ocs-url page:

It still builds, but it doesn’t work, but that’s because the developers behind the websites Pling, OpenDesktop, OpenCode, and projects like pling-store, ocs-store, ocs-url, opendesktop-app, etc have all been abandoned for 4 years with no sign of activity besides maintenance to keep the websites operational.

My recommendation is that, for non-global themes such as cursors etc, you just download the theme you want, and then use the “Install From File” option in the relevant section of Plasma’s System Settings.
Regarding Global Themes, I was just able to install a different Global Theme, Vivid-Dark-Global-6, via the “Get New” button in System Settings:
Please note that it did take a while as installing also requires the downloading of the related desktop theme, colours, cursors, SDDM theme etc. At one stage I was asked to enter my password to install the SDDM theme.
Also, if it looks like Systems Settings has frozen while installing the global theme, don’t close or cancel it. It isn’t frozen - it is just working on stuff in the background.
No, you installed an AUR package, not a simple file.
The KDE team are actively looking for solutions to their rather broken and fragmented theming issues.
The theme to which you refer doesn’t look very complete at first look - it’s uploaded to the store, but there’s no ‘download’ option.
It also has zero comments or ratings, though it was updated 1 day ago… and you’re right, ocs-install is not available for these options so they will require downloading and unpacking to reveal contents.
I think that Pling and associated projects were possibly too unweildy, my main issue with them being that projects highly rated don’t seem to lose their rating, aren’t easy to report, and seem to just stay put - which makes a mockery of the ‘popular’ rated items.
Compare your choice with this one (one which I really don’t like, but is arguably quite well supported): Sweet KDE - KDE Store
You’ll find much more accessible options to hunt down the individual components - but MOST importantly, a link to the SOURCE at the top.
From there you can jump over to the github page:
You can see the activity, reported issues (obviously far more reliable than some Pling comments) and comments relating to plasma 6.
Try to leave behind any concept of Plasma being a fully functioning and integrated ecosystem - whilst many things work, they are often a glossed over hotchpotch of individual parts which often work together, but sometimes don’t.
Perhaps also consider Windows 11 (Endless Global Theme) which does have a github link…
Indeed,

Though be aware that these slightly more ‘extreme’ theming options will take you away from Breeze - whilst there will be a colour scheme, many aspects will not tolerate you choosing any other colours.
Kvantum themes are SVG files - you can’t theme those, unless you edit all the SVG’s to match your colour schemes - and many Aurorae themes as well as many Plasma Look-and-Feel items will suffer the same fate.
If WIndows 11 is your thing - then you can open Global Themes and search Windows 11.
I found 14 results - with the ‘Endless Global Theme’ being the top item.
From there, you can click through to the next display (which displays information from Pling) whowing the repository/homepage and links.
Note the Warning - and make sure you have a backup and snapshot ready before messing.
Yes you are right, let’s hope they come up with a solution to the problems. Well, I use the Breeze Dark theme and am reasonably happy with it.
Despite some problems with the appearance of downloads in the system settings and elsewhere on the desktop in connection with downloads of widgets, things work as they should in KDE Plasma, the programs, etc. KDE also has many advantages over other desktop environments, Dolphin is one of many advantages. So yes, I will continue with Manjaro KDE Plasma with the Breeze Dark theme.
