Installation Speed 100 times slower in package manager than via a web browser

Hello, I’m a fairly new user (installed yesterday) and have managed to make my way this far without many issues. However, I’m noticing that when I have tried to install OpenJDK-21 via Add/Remove Programs, it is almost 100 times slower (400mb/s to 4mb/s)than just installing it via a web browser. How can I fix this?

Um, I think you don’t really know what a kernel is, so I’ve amended your thread title. Welcome, by the way! :vulcan_salute:

Now, the download speed of any package depends on the speed of the mirror selected. Therefore it is always best to first update your mirror list and have it select the fastest mirrors. :point_down:

That said, do not install any software via a web browser. GNU/Linux does not work that way. You must use your package manager — in Arch-based distributions, this is pacman, although Manjaro also comes with pamac, which can be used both at the command line and as a graphical package manager, commonly referred to as “Add/Remove Software”.
