Installation of Manjaro 21.3.2 failed

I have tried to installed the latest version of Manjaro KDE on computer.

But in the UEFI Bios of my computer under Booting, there is no entry for Manjaro (Grub).

The manual partitioning is as follows:

300 MB VFAT /boot/efi
1GB ext4 /boot
32GB swap
100 GB ext4 /(root)
300 GB ext4 /home
50 GB ext4 /var
It is a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro.
There is also Win10 installed on that SSD.

You are in bios mode not UEFI which is needed for you partition setup i. e. “/boot/efi”

I have booted Manjaro KDE 21.3.2 with Ventoy.
This could be the cause.

I think you still have a choice of bios or efi with ventoy. Though I am not certain as I don’t use it.

I have booted Ventoy in Bios mode.

You need to boot in uefi mode

check in your UEFI motherboard ( security - boot )

  • Legacy boot is desactived
  • CSM boot is desactived
  • all disks are on AHCI
  • fastboot is desactived

I have started Ventoy in EFI mode.
Now the installation is sucessful.

Now the output of

test -d /sys/firmware/efi && echo efi || echo bios

is efi
