I’ve attempted to install Zotero, which is available in the AUR, via pamac, pacman and the Manjaro XFCE GUI installer. Every attempt has been unsuccessful, although I’m not sure why.
I then downloaded Zotero-6.0.26_linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 from the Zotero website, but I’m not sure how to install it. How can I install this file?
Unpack the files in your home - browse the files using your file manager - locate the documentation - there is often files in the archive describing what to do.

I suggest installing the zotero-bin AUR package instead. It’s the binary release of Zotero rather than having to build it from source with the zotero package.
Yes, I did unpack the archive, and I did read the documentation, but the documentation seemed to refer to Ubuntu. I now realize that I should perhaps have attempted to run the file named “zotero” via sudo ./zotero. But I’ve already installed zotero-bin via the GUI installer, so there’s no need.
