I am trying to install Zoom and avoid Snaps and AUR packages.
Zoom will remain as proprietary as it is no matter how I install it so I chose to download their own Arch package (seems more secure).
Is it possible to install pkg.tar.xz directly?
Yes it is. 
sudo pacman -U /path/to/the/package.pkg.tar.xz

There is also in herecura repositories, signed by trusted developers …

The AUR package just downloads and installs the package from the official Zoom website.
