Install fails Manjaro 24.2.1 Yonda KDE

Good day to all.
I am having issues attempting to Install Manjaro 24.2.1. I am using a bootable USB to attempt the install. I am able to follow all the steps via the install selecting Erase disk. (Note I am creating a swap drive with hibernation selected and using ext4)

I have installed previously Mint and Elementary without any problems Here are the logs for the install. Please help and thank you for any assistance.

Create a new partition table (type: gpt) on ‘/dev/data’

Job: Create new partition table on device ‘/dev/data’

These look suspicious to me - there is no such device (/dev/data)

I’ll also format your post, the command output, as “preformatted text” → this symbol: </>
to match what it looks like in terminal and thus to make it more readable.

Thank you I am at a loss how to fix this issue. I am more of a windows user and am trying to learn Linux. In windows I would simply wipe the drive with fdisk which is an option if I need to boot with a windows usb option…

It looks like you somehow instructed the installer to create a device called /dev/data
while your intention might have been to create a separate data partition.
But that is all speculation.

You can do the same in Linux - and with the installer as well.
But there is no need - the installer will not care what was there before - it will do as you instruct it to do.
(if it can - it cannot, for example, create a device file /dev/data, as there is no such thing … device files and partitions on drives are two different things)

As a beginner it’s probably wise to use pretty much all the default options - and afterwards inspect the resulting system to learn what these choices did.

Be careful not to wipe or overwrite any data you may have or care about - if these are on separate drives - disconnect them to mitigate the risk of accidental damage or data loss.

I removed the solution mark from my post since what I wrote is in no way a solution to whatever your issue is or was.

I suggest attempting the install with only the devices necessary – the disk to be installed to and the Manjaro Installer – temporarily disconnect all others.

See if that helps.
