Inkscape is not launching

I recently installed Inkscape using pamac.
But it crashed during start. Running in terminal shows

 inkscape: error while loading shared libraries: libpoppler.so.109: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

and output of ldd $(which inkscape) | fgrep libpoppler shows

        libpoppler.so.109 => not found
        libpoppler-glib.so.8 => /usr/lib/libpoppler-glib.so.8 (0x00007f9d0d611000)
        libpoppler.so.108 => /usr/lib/libpoppler.so.108 (0x00007f9d0c13a000)

Note: I’ve not updated to the recent stable release of 2021-04-18…

Did you install inkscape before or after that stable release?

If you installed inkscape after the stable release happened, then that is the issue, as the package that supplies libpoppler was also updated. It is why we don’t ever recommend anyone doing a partial update.

@CatFish I think you installed Inkscape before releasing. So that way it has crashed during start. :slightly_smiling_face:
