Impossible to change the login screen

Hello, I just installed Manjaro Plasma and when customizing it I find that it cannot change the login screen, it does not give me any errors, everything seems correct, but when I restart or close the session the same login screen still appears, although I tried with different login screens, always the same thing.
Also, on the screen where you can select the login screen you want, the samples of the login screens I have to choose from cannot be seen because the icon corresponding to each of them is not loaded.

After finishing the installation of Manjaro update from the command line:
-sudo pacman -Syu
-install language packs and install latest kernel from system preferences.

  • Reboot the system to use the latest kernel.
-From the system preferences, I changed the global theme, the icons, the cursors, the welcome screen and the login screen and I realized that the icons that illustrate the different login screens had not been loaded, that is, they were in white. Anyway, I changed the login screen that comes by default, everything seemed to go correctly.
-I closed the session to check the changes, soon the login screen had not been changed, enter the system preferences, the different login screens were still blank, but the screen that I had chosen was selected, not the one that comes next default, select another login screen, apply changes and reboot, but same thing.
-I looked for information in Google, but I did not find answers, I searched in the forum, but I did not find anything similar.

Have you already :mag: for your problem in the forum ? (Wisdom lies in reading  )

Where did you install it from, and which ISO did you pick? Because that sounds like a broken installation to me. Plasma normally comes with several login screen themes, and in most of them, you can also change the wallpaper of the login screen without changing the theme itself.

Did you check the sha256 checksums on the ISO after downloading?

Download the iso from manjaro.org and with rufus from Windows 11, I had no other OS at the time and didnā€™t check the sha256 checksums

Have you updated your system since the install? If you have any damaged packages, then this might help.

sudo pacman-mirrors -f 5 && sudo pacman -Syyu

Yes, I have already done this. Thank you

Settings > Workspace Behaviour > Screen Locking > Appearance:Configure... > change background picture

I remember having trouble with this too.

According to my notes it doesnā€™t even matter what pic you set in:
Settings > Startup and Shutdown > Login Screen (SDDM) > Change background

Then there is:

Settings > Appearence > Splash Screen

I could never figure out how to apply the same blur as on login screen if I used a custom picture, so I just disabled the splash screen and then forgot about it. Remembered now that I read my notes. xD

I have downloaded the latest iso, I have verified the hash and finally I have prepared my flash drive as specified in the Manjaro wiki, that is:

sudo dd bs=4M if=/home/mlpdel/Downloads/manjaro-kde-22.1.3-230529-linux61.iso of=/dev/sde status=progress oflag=sync

I have installed Manjaro, I have rebooted, I have updated it and when I have gone to change the login screen, I found that I still have the same problem.

Has anyone come up with a solution to solve this problem?

Thank you.

Here you go, since I know google doesnā€™t work for manjaro users :joy:: change login screen kde plasma - Google Suche

3rd link, from manjaro evenā€¦ :joy:

You were right zbe, it was not changing the loginscreen, i followed your link

Thanks.

Well, youā€™re right, I donā€™t know why I didnā€™t solve it with your answer. I apologize.

Thatā€™s not issue, Idc about badges and stuff.
What hurts is if I spend time giving solutions that are not being used, why bother giving them?

I understand you though, but that one hurt a little. But no worries, Iā€™m glad everything worked out for you.
