Thank you very much for taking the time and energy to create the new Cinnamon snapshot!
While trying it live, the login page unfortunately does not accept the password “manjaro”. After 1-1.5 sec. it throws me back to the login page (The SHA256 checksum matches)
Yes, that’s true – the checksum for the i3 ISO is available from the Downloads page of the official Manjaro website, and guess what? – the checksum is accurate.
This is also true – the checksum of the downloaded ISO must match the checksum available from the Manjaro site – I have just downloaded the ISO myself, and the checksum matches.
As others have indicated, if the checksum does not match the ISO you have downloaded, then that ISO is damaged and should not be used.
Instead, download another copy of the ISO – if the checksum still doesn’t match, then it is suggested to re-evaluate whatever method you use to download ISO’s.
You might consider trying the Sway WM Community edition instead – Sway is similar to i3, except that the focus is on Wayland.
Unstable branch ISO’s are available.
If you consider yourself an expert user, perhaps this is a suitable option for you.
Regards.
Can’t reproduce in a GNOME Boxes VM.
Maybe he writes “mqnjqro” (Azerty/Qwerty)?

Update:
The problem is not with the keyboard layout.
When I switch to the console (tty) and enter the username/password (manjaro, manjaro) the prompt appears → startx →
does not start/gives an error message.
If I then return to the graphical interface and enter the password there,
it sometimes accepts it, but not in all cases.
So, in the end the system can be started and presumably installed, but you have to “play” with it to get it to start.
OK, not saying you’re lying but this is very weird from your info, if sometimes password works, sometimes not, it seems very unlikely to be the case. To me either it works or it doesn’t. Or maybe the ISO is not intended to switch to a TTY and trying the startx command and at this point you create an issue (the live ISO is intended to have a working system and to install Manjaro, maybe some cases are not supported).
To be fair I did not test.
Unless for example something in the gui greeter is severely lagging and sometimes “eats” the first character of the password or misplaces the characters (buffers the first one and spits it out later). Maybe something video related…
You can try being “slow” on the greeter. Leave it 10 seconds and then start to type, and type about 1 character per second and see if it helps.
I was thinking something a bit like that.
Not sure if the i3 greeter can un-hide the typed password. If it does, it’s worth trying that before you go to log in, so you can see if it’s incorrect.
I recall occasionally entering a password (correctly, from my perspective) and yet the password is rejected. Waiting a few moments, or typing more slowly, can often resolve that.
This is especially predictable when logging into a Live environment such as a Manjaro Installer ISO/USB. Available resources of the hardware used is often a common factor.
The solution:
After entering the password, I press enter only after 4-5 minutes.
In this case, the password is accepted and the live system starts.
Tried several times!
