Where is the Nvidia 495 driver?

Hello everyone,

I’m sorry if this question has an obvious answer but I can’t figure out where to find the latest Nvidia driver to test it. Sure it is on Nvidia’s website, but I can’t find it in the repos.

And yes, my GPU is supported by this driver, see here the search results for the laptop 1070.

What would be the best way to get these “new feature branch” drivers instead of the 470 “production” ones ?

Thanks a lot in advance !

sudo mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300

should install the newest Nvidia driver if the system is up-to-date.

$ sudo mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300
Skipping already installed config 'video-nvidia' for device: 0000:01:00.0 (0300:10de:1be1) Display controller nVidia Corporation GP104BM [GeForce GTX 1070 Mobile]

I already have the 470 drivers. I want to test the 495 ones.

Wait until it’s supported by Manjaro.

Ok, thanks.

The 495 series driver is currently only available in the Manjaro unstable branch. You can switch branches if you want to test it.

Do you think it will be supported before 2022? Or there are no plans to support it soon?.

I guess it’s moving into testing branch by end of November and into stable by end of January, latest. You can check it yourself here:

Just search for “nvidia”.
