I2c_i801 accidentially loaded?

Hi all,
the module i2c_i801 seems to crash my system. When loading this module during boot I get messages like

Mär 17 20:30:00 ideapad kernel: watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 26s! [swapper/1:0]

and only a short time later the system hangs completely. Setting this module on the blacklist the laptop works like a charm. Loading the module manually also leads to a system freeze.

I wondered why this module is loaded and found in hwinfo the following output

26: PCI 1f.1: 0c05 SMBus

I’m not so familiar with this but it looks suspicious to me that a Gaussian Mixture Model which is IMHO used for speech recognition has something to do with i2c.

I would like to know if my measure to blacklist this module is the correct way. It would be helpful if somebody could explain to me the relationship between i2c and Gaussian Mixture Model and what would be the correct driver for it.

My hardware is a Lenovo ideapad Duet 3 10IGL5. Linux kernel version is

 ~$ uname -a
Linux ideapad 5.15.28-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Mar 11 14:12:57 UTC 2022 x86_64 GNU/Linux

The output of inxi is
