I need very basic info and solution regarding manjaro OS

I am new to manjaro
I got manjaro install the help of my friend
I am able to login without password
and my friend told me that he had not set any password
Now I need to install updates but authentication is required and I dont know password
is there any logical solution.

You should ask your friend - as you cannot install Manjaro without setting password(s) a password must have been set as the first user is super user and password is required to run update syncs.

Maybe your friend enabled login without password for you, but there must be a password.

Try leaving your password box empty. If it works, open terminal, write passwd and change your password

The password could be the default ones -

This tutorial is for changing forgotten root password in Ubuntu. It should work in Manjaro also. You can also change the user password with the root account.
