I recently posted about an issue with Bluetooth and PulseAudio, and I was advised that KDE has made the switch to Wayland. I went ahead and began using it, but I noticed that I am logged out of almost everything, not sure if this is something related to my keys or something similar to cookies in web? Not sure.
Anyhow, I logged in again, but I keep getting logged out, mainly from WhatsApp Web when I restart the laptop. Is there a solution for this?
Hi @Yamo,
I use Plasma with Wayland and I can’t say I’ve had this problem. But I can suggest you clear the cache and see if that helps:
rm -r ~/.cache
And just for good measure reboot.
Hope it helps!
Have you got anything Xorg-related in an autostart or your ~/.zshrc (or the relevant profile for the shell you’re using)?
When I first tried switching over to Wayland. I had such entries in ~/.zshrc and they caused a lot of problems with Wayland sessions (I think it was things like xset, xmodmap, setxkbmap).
I don’t believe so. I searched in my .zshrc config file but I didn’t find anything like that.
Ah well… Worth a try.
Which browser are you using? It sounds more like a cookies issue in the browser if it’s the web version of whatsapp that is affected.
Welcome to the Manjaro community
As a new or infrequent forum user, please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements, and the many ways to use the forum to your benefit.
To that end, links are provided (below) - Please use them.
Be prepared to provide outputs from various commands when asked. It’s equally important to provide as much actionable information as possible in your first post, rather than simply indicating there is a problem.
Waiting for someone to blindly ask questions is also counter-productive – typically, nobody has a
at their disposal – Instead, please help others to make informed suggestions, based on information you provide.
Update Announcements
The Update Announcements contain important information and a Known Issues and Solutions section that should generally be checked before posting a request for support.
System Information
While information from *-fetch type apps might be fine for someone wishing to buy your computer, for Support purposes it’s better to ask your system directly; ![]()
Output of the inxi command (with appropriate parameters, and formatted according to forum guidelines) will generate information useful for those wishing to help:
inxi --filter --verbosity=8
or the short form (preferred):
inxi -zv8
- inxi man pages (Arch Manual)

Vivaldi
I have done that, and I believe that it might have resolved it, I will test after a couple of reboots and update you.
Sounds to me like your privacy and/or cookie settings are clearing data on close or perhaps an external program is clearing some data on logout/reboot.
Similar problem with Vivaldi:
You have been asked already for system information.
It’s possible someone will notice something in your details that might be contributing to your issue – inxi output is expected with each new Support topic, or when requested by staff.
Please provide it as per @tracyanne’s post (above).
