I have a passwd and passwd- file, which one should i consider when merging?

i suppose it’s the ‘passwd’ one.

they’re identical apart from a line that starts with passim:x:.......:Local in ‘passwd’
why do i have 2 passwd files, and can i delete passwd-?

It is passwd

any idea what is the second identical file?
edit:
/etc/passwd- is a backup of /etc/passwd maintained by some tools, see the man page. There’s also a /etc/shadow- usually, for the same purpose.
