I cannot open links via xdg-open

Hey guys, I get funny error messages that I do not understand when using xdg-open instead of opening the link in my browser:

āžœ ~ xdg-open https://forum.manjaro.org
qt5ct: using qt5ct plugin
/usr/bin/xdg-open: line 502: test: : integer expression expected
/usr/bin/xdg-open: line 503: test: : integer expression expected
/usr/bin/xdg-open: line 504: test: : integer expression expected

I tried to google those but I did not find all too much. I tried to return my default browser according to https://www.reddit.com/r/linux4noobs/comments/9uyzh2/xdgopen_not_doing_anything/, but even that threw an error:

āžœ ~ xdg-settings get default-web-browser
/usr/bin/xdg-settings: line 665: kreadconfig: command not found
google-chrome.desktop

Then I tried to set my $KDE_SESSION_VERSION but that did not work either:

āžœ ~ export KDE_SESSION_VERSION=4
āžœ ~ xdg-open https://forum.manjaro.org
/usr/bin/xdg-open: line 615: kde-open: command not found

āžœ ~ export KDE_SESSION_VERSION=5
āžœ ~ xdg-open https://forum.manjaro.org
/usr/bin/xdg-open: line 618: kde-open5: command not found

Hope I find any help here!

Is what I have installed. (yy = yay, yaourt is dead, you need to move to another aur helper, e.g. yay or trizen).

Lots of stuff you can ignore like flatpak (sorry got distracted, the above is a list of everything that mentions xdg  )

So I will install all the packages that you have and I don't? I can try that

Only the xdg ones, the list is from a relatively fresh install of kde.

I just did that, it did not change anything of the above errors and missing functionality. but thanks anyways.

The weird part is that after you run the xdg-open script, you get this:

Can you please share the output of these commands?

xdg-mime query default x-scheme-handler/http

and

xdg-mime query default x-scheme-handler/https

Also, what is you default browser? Is it Google Chrome?

Thanks for jumping in. Yep its google chrome.

āžœ ~ xdg-mime query default x-scheme-handler/http
google-chrome.desktop
āžœ ~ xdg-mime query default x-scheme-handler/https
google-chrome.desktop

Update: I have a workaround right now:
I set KDE_SESSION_VERSION to 4 and I added

          mimeopen "$1"

after line 618 in the xdg-open script...

Been trying to post, but the forum has been playing up here, constant time out errors.

Glad you got it sorted.
