…which doesn’t mean that it cannot be used.
Regardless, the point was that the OP should not be using a realtime kernel on a laptop, especially one with only 8GB of RAM.
I dare say the only reason they don’t experience this crash when using the rt-6.9.x is that the problem area is now loaded into RAM instead of disk. If nothing else, that might indicate a file system or swap issue.

Indeed. We keep seeing this lately, perhaps an idea to include an advisory message in Calamares or something?

No swap is sub-optimal, even with massive amounts of RAM. But you do know when it becomes a problem pretty quick.
No use speculating until this person fixes the kernel first.
sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux610
(Or linux66
for latest LTS.)
Reboot, select the new kernel in the grub menu.
sudo mhwd-kernel -r linux69-rt

Yeah i agree, to have a swap (partition/file) is important, there should be a info in calamares, if the user really want to install without a swap option.

This is heading off topic, but Calamares does provide the facility to create swap during install; whether by using manual partitioning method or the dropdown in the erase disk method; however, the option isn’t immediately available with the replace a partition method, which is possibly what many (new users) might use, when attempting to install Manjaro to the same disk as their Windows installation.
The only option then is to create swap post-install, which is never explained.
Couple this with so many parrots claiming that “you don’t need swap when you have plenty of RAM”, and swap
ends up never having been created at all; it’s only later if/when its absence causes an issue that its given a second thought.

They happened really out of the blue, not when my machine was under stress. At some point i was turning the PC on and after some seconds it rebooted
higher temperature could be due to the fact that i’m placing my laptop on top of my clothish laptop case
There are a range of (cheap to reasonably priced) stands available to combat that very problem that many people face; especially when fans are on the underside of a laptop.
Airflow is all-important.
Since your problem is solved already, the high temps maybe doesn’t bother your CPU.
And a plethora of cooling mats (or pads). Which you probably inferred?
But it’s not uncommon to see laptop CPUs idle at above 50C. (I try to avoid those purchases, as I like cool.)
Laptop BIOSs are awful for this, but if possible, I undervolt my CPU. It’s probably not an option, and does take some trial and error with this route.
Then with laptops I use frequency governors to force the clock rate down. Even XFCE comes with a little widget to change the governor from powersave
to ondemand
; when you want the power (and heat).
Actual stands that elevate the laptop sufficiently to allow more airflow. In some cases these stands have additional in-built fans, though I might question their effectiveness, beyond aesthetics.
Cooling mats/pads as you describe don’t seem overly useful.
Allowing some airflow where previously there may have been little, or none, can often produce dramatic results. I’ve lost track of the amount of cases where a daughter/son habitually runs their laptop atop a blanket on their bed, or another such non-ventilated surface.
Overheating has been the number one bane of laptops; some might say this is by design, especially among low-end brands.
I’d recommend (and my wife even uses) something like:

I had in mind something more like these:
…or these…
…and all things similar…
As long as they provide the much needed airflow. Additional fluff like a built-in USB hub and extra fans can sometimes be a nice touch, if designed well.
For the benefit of passers-by: The images in the last two posts are actually links to offsite resources, and don’t weigh heavily on the server and infrastructure.
Screenshots that some users still insist on pasting to the forum are entirely different – each image must be stored on the server, and in time this can be detrimental to forum performance.
This is why I (and others) will frequently request that users refrain from posting screenshots, and spend the time to copy/paste text or give an understandable description instead.
That is all. Cheers.

That’s exactly what I was thinking of, so I can use the craptop whilst is hogging my lap, without straining my bad shoulder at an awkward angle.
I suppose this would be better for another thread though …
