Screen lock broken

Hi,

My system seems to be unable to recover from ‘lock screen’, eg:

  • I click ‘lock screen’ (or let the power/screen saver do it)
  • Screen goes black as expected.
  • I click mouse and the screen wakes up and presents me with login dialog.
  • I enter my password and hit return.
  • The screen goes black and that’s it. There’s a draggable cursor so not everythings dead I guess, but I never get back to the desktop.

Here’s the output of inxi -SCG

I tried changing from light-locker to xfce4-screensaver as suggested by some posts I found from 2020 but have only managed to break the screen lock altogther so far!

Edit: OK, seems this issue has been encountered by another user…which I’d link to but I can’t include links in posts?!?

However, the topic has been locked with the proposed solution ‘reinstall manjaro’ - is this really the only fix for this?

[edit] I did try to affix more comprehensive inxi output, but it got flagged for containing links! Which I doesn’t AFAICT…

Bye,
Mark

Success!

Simply uninstalling light-locker and then reinstalling it appears to have fixed the ‘Lock Screen’ problem above!
