How to stop fsck at boot trying to check removed HDD

I have commented out a HDD entry in /etc/fstab,

#UUID=4d783a1b-d226-482a-b0ca-4f767e2377d7 /media/POL ext4 defaults 0 1

powered down , then physically disconnected it.

Why is fsck still trying to check it at boot? How can I stop this?

sudo mkinitcpio -P
sudo update-grub

Thanks, but it was all my fault/stupidity. :flushed:

I forgot that drive had 2 partitions. After commenting out the other in /etc/fstab, the fsck check stopped.
