How to speed up intel core i5 with 5.9 kernel in linux

I just wanted to share my experience with this kernel on my laptop with i5 8th gen processor, which was quite slow on certain programs. I’ve read a bit about this kernel and it looks like it also boosts other intel processors and AMD. This info is most valuable for noobs like myself as I was blaming on laptop itself. So give it a try and don’t worry if it’s not recommended.

If you don’t know how to upgrade kernel in KDE go to System Settings -> Kernel -> install kernel 5.9.10 and then restart it automatically picks the newest kernel (optionally remove old kernel)

If you want up to 50% extra speed on intel then disable mitigation:

But hey, it is up to you. Security or Speed?
