How to recover files on HDD

I decided to increase the size of a partition in my HDD, but in doing so, because it was so big and was moved to the left, it showed that it would take 10 hours to finish (HDD was 931 GiB big but only about 500 GiB full). So, I decided to force stop it, but after that, all my files are gone. I heard that even if the files are gone, I can still recover them because it doesn’t really wipe them out. How can I recover them? Thanks

I guess you need to look for professional file recovery software if you have not made a backup. Hard way to learn - backup your valuable! - especially if doing things with partition tools. And second lesson: Never stop jobs doing major changes on partitions!

Can you recommend me some of that you trust? Any bit of help would be appreciated. Thanks

I never needed one. :man_shrugging:
