How to let yay use aur.manjaro.org?

Hi!

I have a newbie question: how can I have yay feed on aur.manjaro.org?
Is that even possible?

I tried to yay --aururl https://aur.manjaro.org --save but it does not work, as it tries to download some (JSON?) file from the wrong path and eventually outputs this error:

:: Searching AUR for updates...
:: Searching databases for updates...
 -> 2 errors occurred:
        * response decoding failed: invalid character '<' looking for beginning of value
        * response decoding failed: invalid character '<' looking for beginning of value

I couldn’t find anything in Manjaro’s docs that points me to that.
(Yes, I was also trying to switch to pamac but I’d prefer to use just the minimal base tools as long as I can…)

aur.manjaro.org is only for a database file (not exists rpc) and no repos (so we can’t install from this url !)
yay use aur rpc instead database

2 very different things

note: since yay 12, we can use database file as pamac …

No - it is a database created by the aur-developers for use with aur helpers - pamac in particular - as pamac is an immensely popular package manager also outside Manjaro.

Thanks for clarifying! :slight_smile:
