How to keep third (laptop) screen always darkened?

Hi,

I’m using a laptop that is connected to 2 external monitors.

Whenever I login after booting I need to manually darken the laptop screen. Also, when the system comes out of hibernation or standby mode, the screen isn’t dark anymore and I have to manually dim it again.

Since I barely need the third (laptop) screen, I want it to be dark by default.

Does anyone know a solution for that?

Thanks a lot and have a great week!

Hi @reinheaven,

I believe you’re looking for Xrandr

I’m using a laptop that is connected to 2 external monitors.

Since I barely need the third (laptop) screen, I want it to be dark by default.

I also run two external display. In KDE (which I am running), you can configure your displays. I keep the laptop’s display disabled, so KDE disables the laptop screen after booting.

Wow, this is so simple. Why didn’t I think of that myself? Thanks a lot!
