How to autostart Vorta?

I have Vorta installed and can run it from terminal, but nothing happens if I try to run it from the Start Menu and it refuses to Autostart

How can I fix this?

Hi @psionman,

I’m going to presume you mean this Vorta:

a Qt-based GUI for Borg

In which case, seeing as there’s no specific method mentioned, I’d recommend a Systemd user unit:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Systemd#Writing_unit_files

…and specify the DISPLAY environment variable in the unit.

Hope this helps!

I’ve never had to do anything special to get Vorta to autostart, just ensure that the checkbox is ticked.

There seems to be a bigger issue if you also can’t open it from the menu. Have you tried rebuilding it? There was a python upgrade a while ago.

vorta is in the repo - no need to rebuild
