Samsung NVME (its back)

This worked for awhile, then not.

Edit:

As a workaround, add the kernel parameter iommu=soft to use a software replacement for the hardware IOMMU. (For further details, see this documentation.) This has the potential to cause some slight processing overhead.

Anyone understand this at all?

New Edit
new NVME different brand same issue.

Switched back to windows briefly to see if the issue existed on windows… NOPE. Everything worked fine. I dont want to go back to windows… ~but~ there does not seem to be a solution Atleast in my grasp… Do i put up with jank os or stalker os…

Hi @Rocherd87,

I, myself, have a Samsung NVMe and have absolutely 0 problems with it.

So I’m going to go ahead and give it my best guess:

Since it seems intermittent and a bit random to me, I’m going with a hardware defect.

If this has been ruled out, I’m still going with it because that’s what fits in my book.

I would be concerned about that, but when the issue reappeared, I borrowed the Misses desktop, plugged it in, and iso’ed (backed up) and reformatted it and windows was able to use it and tax it just fine. ran for hours under load no problems then put the restored image, returned to my desktop, and… 30 minutes max maybe 5 mins sometimes.

In that case and seeing as you previously spoke to people much more knowledgeable than I, I have to say: I’m sorry, but I don’t know what else.

:sob:

count your blessings, lol.

Seems like i am not the only one.

I’m counting, I’m counting.
