How do i change the default web browser?

Can’t figure out how to change the default web browser

I’m on xfce

I’d say you need to install the one you want (if not already installed).
You can launch it directly, and/or set it as default browser from the Xfce settings.

Got it…
Xfce has settings for preferred Applications
Thanks

The default in xfce settings does not always work (eg launching Falkon browser from Thunderbird). I tried the below and finally got it working in Thunderbird., though not entirely sure which of the methods (or all of them) were necessary.

xdg-settings get default-web-browser
xdg-settings set default-web-browser org.kde.falkon.desktop

From Menu, select Mime Type Editor; search for htm and similar and change to Falkon (or whatever).

MAYBE…

In Thunderbirdbird: preferences/config
search for: network.protocol-handler.warn-external.http
set http and https True

On first link-click Thunderbird opens Launch Application menu: choose Falkon (or whatever) and Remember and Open Link.
