Help with setting up T440p Laptop (ThinkPad) Validity Fingerprint sensor

Hello, new to Linux, and could really do with some help getting the Fingerprint sensor working.

I have installed the validity fingerprint sensors Linux tools from the package manager. But am a little stuck on what to do next!

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hello,

Your laptop has the same fingerprint reader as x240 … so this should help

Depending what DE you use, to enable it from login screen might need tweaks …
Some discussion that might help are here

Thank you.

I can scan my finger but if I try and use fingerprint-gui I get the error below, And not sure how to even add the option to use the scanner in KDE

Using device /net/reactivated/Fprint/Device/0
Enrolling right-index-finger finger.
