But I really think that the user must also make an effort in understanding the basics. I’m as noob as it can be. I can work with linux, but don’t make me do difficult things. Oh no wait, I can do difficult things, but I’ll have to read a manual, search the internet, a wiki. And if I don’t understand, I will ask for help on whatever forum I have to

I could have googled that article. In fact, I have Googled that article. I did not understand that article. This is why I asked for help.

That’s where giving good information comes in. How am I supposed to know you did that?

They just want to follow steps and fix a problem.

Yeah. Can’t be bothered to do a simple search/read a wiki article/read a man page and try to be self reliant.

You do the work, and just give me a command that I can copy and paste.

A lot of people here on this forum will do that (I’ll even do it on that rare occasion); and it’s great that they do.

But, if you’re going to go all-in with linux, repeat @Lunix’s quote at the top of this post, ad nauseam.

We prefer to avoid ineffective discussions.

Maybe this one wasn’t ineffective, I haven’t read all of it.
But I’d ask to write more clearly next time what you want to know or to propose, this will help everybody.
