Somebody knows how to fix this annoying pop up bug I would appreciate help. I am good at maintaining plasma, but this is out of my league. I have found code from this year, but it doesn’t, work? I will have to find another distro too use I guess? I enjoy Manjaro and it is a shame that it has come to this. I will check in the morning maybe some kind soul will have an answer? Why would an update cause this error.? Bad for business if anyone cares.To those who can help thank you!

Configuration file "/var lib/sddm/.config/sddm-greeterrc" not writable

Press Ctrl+Alt+F3 and log in at the tty as yourself. Then issue the command… sudo chown -R sddm:sddm /var/lib/sddm/.config Then press Ctrl+D to exit the session and press Alt+F1 to return to SDDM.

Sddm error: file /var/lib/sddm/.config/sddm-greeterrc not writable

change the ownership of directory and its contents. sudo chown -R sddm:sddm /var/lib/sddm/.config

Why blame Manjaro for a bug that had crept in upstream? Besides, that bug has in the meantime already long been fixed.

Not quite. The solution has already been posted here at the forum several times. But in order to know that, you would have to use the forum’s search function before posting, as the forum’s welcome page advises you to do…

Please also note that we’re all volunteers here, and that having to answer the same question a thousand times all over again because people can’t be bothered doing a search first is very discouraging.

And perhaps you do not care about that — such is your prerogative — but then also bear in mind that not at the very least searching the forum to see if your question has already been posted and answered before will only reduce your chances of finding the solution to your problem.
