Having a hard time connecting to wifi after reboot

Current using XFCE, every time I start up my PC it has trouble connecting to wifi. I usually connect through the gui in the bottom right, where it spins for a bit and says “Network connection has been disconnected.” Occasionally, it will prompt me for my password, and very rarely will I actually be able to connect to the wifi, which works perfectly fine. I’m currently dual booting this with windows, and what I’ve noticed is my windows is also sharing a bit of the same characteristics, where it doesn’t connect to wifi on startup, but windows is actually able to connect to wifi quickly afterwards. I know its not a driver issue because the wifi actually works once connected, and inxi -N displays my driver, which is rtl8821cu. When I try nmcli, I get that “Connection activation failed: (53) The Wi-Fi network could not be found”

Can anyone solve this issue? It’s been plaguing me for weeks and it legit takes me like 30 minutes just to connect to wifi.

What should I do in this situation?

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

  1. Please read this:
    How to provide good information
and press the three dots below your post and press the :pencil2: to give us more information so we can see what’s really going on.
Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…
  2. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information for us to be able to help you. (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
Also, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text.

:+1:

P.S. If you want to notify me that you did provide this information, please  this message and I’ll come back and have another look.
P.P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which exact CPU/GPU or Kernel, … you have without typing it every time

Please read this:

Especially the Linux has multiple kernels section, then try an LTS kernel and hopefully the problem will go away “automagically”.

If that doesn’t solve the problem,

  • Activate the AUR
  • look for a Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411
  • follow the AUR instructions above to install said driver

Unrelated to your issue, but please read this too!
:crossed_fingers:

Just curious: as you gave me a  Did that make the issue go away?

If not: Are you rebooting from Windows to Linux when the problem appears or from Linux to Linux?
