Looking to bypass the motherboard audio which is failing, with a old PCie bus sound card. I can buy used ones on ebay, but what works out of the box or with a little tweeking? Playback on motherboard audio is fine, just microphone input is intermittent. So want to bypass. Aware that not all Windows oriented soundcards will work.
I have escalated the problem, found an outboard sound card, and the problem remains. Started a new thread.
