GSYNC forced back on, thrashing 144Hz detection

So, few days ago I installed some updates and nothing seemed broken.

Fast forward to today when I shut my system down and later started it up again and things have changed:

  1. GSYNC is turned back on, despite being forced off by me previously because it introduced flickering.
  2. 120 and 144Hz are not selectable anywhere
  3. xrandr -q no longer lists 120 and 140Hz as supported for the primary monitor

What gives?

The ideal configuration is/was:
1920x1080@60Hz + 2560x1440@144Hz + 1920x1080@60Hz
