I have had that happening to me over a year ago when I was compiling firefox-kde-opensuse
from the AUR. Not even the clock got updated. And it lasted for five hours, but after that, everything was back to normal.
Like I said, it may sometimes appear frozen, because I/O is a locking process, and your system is very limited on resources.
Also, it is not uncommon for a massive update to take up to an hour, even on my machine here, with 6 cores and 16 GiB of RAM.
Well I will let it run then
I didn’t thank you yet, but I am very grateful, thank you ! Even if nothing seems to be solved yet, you are very responsive hats off

I have a good and a bad news.
Good news it is “responsive” again.
Bad news it ended up the process before the end (166/560) and I think it is due to a lack of space …
I saw a popup saying /home was full (or something similar) and indeed it has 37.2 MiB free.

More like your root filesystem being full.
During an update, the packages are downloaded into /var/cache/pacman/pkg
─ which in your case is on the root filesystem ─ and the packages are not automatically deleted. You have to use paccache
(or your GUI package manager) to periodically empty the package cache, or at the very least, remove a couple of iterations of the downloads.
As the process was ended, I decided to reboot with no hope, but we never know. Nothing has change, but I will reinstall the kernel once more. Is it possible to increase the /home on a live media (2.8 GiB free) ? If not I am afraid to face the same issue.
Indeed but I don’t think it is the problem. The folder is full of packages but the drive has 128.8 GiB free.
In this case, I really think the problem is the /home of the live media.
Nothing related to the OS in the bios. Only the option for the boot order, the date and time, etc.
if you need space
sudo manjaro-chroot -a

pacman -Sc

No, of course not. That’s a read-only medium. And there’s no way it could have filled up with the instructions I gave you. You were working in a chroot
environment, i.e. on the root filesystem of the installed Manjaro.
I have this error when runing mhwd-kernel -i linux54
